Residence
Area 10,500 sq. ft.
Status Complete // December 2025
Situated along a busy commercial road and occupying the upper two floors of a mixed-use building, this 10,500 sq ft residence is designed as a calm retreat above the city’s bustle. With shops, neighbouring homes, and a school across its west-facing frontage, the home is shaped by light, material continuity, and spatial clarity to create a sense of refuge for a family of five.
The house is organised around a carved double-height volume illuminated by a large north-facing skylight. This central void acts as the primary ordering device, drawing soft daylight deep into the plan and subtly changing character through the day. Spaces on both levels orient themselves around this volume, allowing visual continuity while maintaining privacy between communal and private zones.
The lower level accommodates the main living areas, including the foyer, living room, dining, kitchen, and utility spaces, along with a guest suite and master bedroom. Above, a balcony overlooks the living area and leads to three bedrooms and a home theatre. Each bedroom opens to an outdoor extension, with movable screens on the west façade providing shade and privacy.
Material continuity defines the interior. White satvario marble flows across common areas, accented by jet-black marble inlays and Italian green marble furniture elements. Bathrooms introduce localized variations, including a bold yellow limewash bathroom for the son, lit by a skylight. Glass blocks introduce filtered light and texture throughout.
The result is a composed, light-filled home that balances elegance, privacy, and urban context.
