One/Two
Retail Pop-Up
Area 1,000 sq. ft.
Status Complete // December 2024
One/Two was envisioned as a dynamic, experiential maze designed on a square site to house pop-up stores for two lighting and automation brands under the Atcom umbrella. The design approach centered on creating a functional yet captivating environment where products and their impact were seamlessly integrated into the spatial narrative. Prioritizing user navigation and intuitive understanding, the design amalgamated the identities of both brands into a cohesive experience, maintaining a balanced representation.
The square floor plan was punctuated at the front to create a recessed entrance portal, inviting visitors into a diagonal spine that visually connects the entrance to an open green garden. The garden, brimming with fiddle figs and palms, provided a serene yet dynamic backdrop, illuminated thoughtfully to draw attention. Flanked by corridors on three sides, the space featured framed openings of varied scales, creating playful vignettes that engaged visitor curiosity.
At the heart of the store lay the central mass - a multifunctional experiential space. This centerpiece served dual purposes: fostering intimate conversational corners and reinforcing the design's angular geometry to maximize open spans for product displays. The zoning emanated from this central element, facilitating smooth circulation and meaningful interactions. Design elements, including volumes, colors, voids, and signage, were orchestrated to enhance visitor engagement, prioritizing the experience over overt product promotion. The intent was clear: How could this space create a lasting, memorable impression?
